Taft-Hartley
Multi-employer Plans
We take particular pride
that one of our oldest and largest accounts is a teamster and employer
sponsored multi-employer pension plan, our client since its establishment
in 1955. This long relationship has been an important benefit to our firm,
allowing us to build on our experience with this account and develop other
multi-employer business. Today, Beyer-Barber Company serves as actuarial
consultant to 19 Taft-Hartley plans including three of the ten largest
teamster and employer sponsored multi-employer pension plans in the country.
Our experience includes
all aspects of current issues inherent to Taft-Hartley plans including
annual valuation and integration with 401(h), cost study analyses, IRS-DOL-PBGC
filing requirements, Multi-employer Pension Plan Amendments Act of 1980
(MPPAA) administration including expert witness testimony, projected cash
flow analyses, the conversion of multi-employer defined benefit plans
into defined contribution plans, bond dedication and immunization.
We also have similar
consulting experience and depth in the multi-employer health & welfare
plan area. We mention this because we believe that our role as a pension
consultant is enhanced because we can take into account how changes in
the pension plan will affect our clients health & welfare and other
plans.
